There is a lot of talk in the technology world about the two features of Facebook Messenger called Vanish Mode and Secret Conversation. Facebook Messenger vanish mode

• Text, pictures, etc. can be sent in vanish mode just like a normal chat. After closing the chat all the sent messages will vanish
• The vanish mode of Facebook Messenger will automatically delete the message

In addition to the mentioned methods, you can enter a chat by tapping the name of the person in the chat and using the “Vanish Mode” option from the chat settings.

Facebook Messenger Secret Conversation

Although many people think that the two features of Vanish Mode and Secret Conversation are the same, in fact, the basis of these two features is different. End-to-end encrypted messages can be sent using Messenger Secret Conversation, to which a timer can be added. When the timer expires, the message will be automatically deleted. Secret conversion depends on the signal protocol. Messenger added this feature via an open-source library using this protocol.

This secret conversation feature of Messenger is so confidential that even Facebook authorities cannot see these messages. Encrypted messages can only be read on the device on which the Secret Conversation feature is turned on. In other words, if a secret conversation is turned on in the mobile phone, then the message sent there will not be seen from the laptop.

A timer can be set for how long a message will be displayed on Messenger using Secret Conversation. For example, if you set the timer for 5 minutes, then after 5 minutes that message will be disappeared or be deleted. If you do not set the timer, the messages will be saved on the device.

Rules for enabling Messenger’s secret conversations

• Access the Messenger app on your phone
• Then tap on the pencil icon in the upper right corner of the Messenger app
• Then tap on the Secret option or icon in the corner
• Then select the contact with whom you want to create a secret conversation
