According to Crisil Ratings, despite the recent price hike, 30 cents per gigabyte of the internet in India is still one of the most affordable data plans in the world. Besides, the most affordable data package can be used for only 10 cents.

Isha Chowdhury, director of Crisil Research, said the US, China, and South Korea charge 8-10 per gigabyte of internet and 60 cents to 2 dollars for the most affordable data package. As such, Indian telecom service providers still have the opportunity to raise prices. However, in the near future, the price of the Internet package will be at a tolerable level.
