BlackBerry service has been closed after January

BlackBerry discontinued selling classic phones a long time ago. But therefore, BlackBerry has supported all classic BlackBerry phones. iPhone is now a famous name in the world of mobile phones. But even decades ago, smartphones meant people understood BlackBerry. Although the sale of those phones quit a long time ago, BlackBerry used to support all the classic phones. But not any longer, this time the company stopped supporting all classic BlackBerry phones.

BlackBerry as a company even hit Wall Street estimations for its third-quarter revenue earlier week and reported a net profit of $74 million (roughly Rs. 551 crores). That was significant in comparison with losing $130 million (roughly Rs. 970 crores) a year earlier.

The departure of legacy services from BlackBerry phones doesn’t mean that the brand BlackBerry is extinct altogether. The company is nowadays busy developing its security software and services for different enterprises and governments around the world.

BlackBerry announced on Thursday that it would no longer support Classic phones. With this announcement, an era in the smartphone world came to an end. Phones running BlackBerry OS and BlackBerry 10 operating systems will no longer have support. Customers who even want to continue operating these phones will not receive any patches. As a result, it is not possible to ensure mobile network and WiFi signal reception.

And, BlackBerry customers may experience issues with voice calls, SMS, cellular data, and emergency calls. However, there will be no problem in using all the smartphones running the Android operating system.

On January 4, 2022, BlackBerry SS support was discontinued.
